Apostle Emmanuel Marecha delivered a thought-provoking message centered on spiritual foundations and the critical role of spiritual fatherhood in shaping destiny.
Opening from 1 Samuel 9:19–20 (KJV), Apostle Marecha highlighted the story of Saul, whose journey to kingship began with something seemingly insignificant: lost donkeys. According to the message, God used the loss to redirect Saul toward his purpose. However, the emphasis was clear—Saul could not discern this divine direction on his own. It took prophetic guidance to interpret the moment and align him with God’s plan.
This led to a piercing question posed to the congregation: Do you have a father who guides you and shows you when you are going in the right direction? Apostle Marecha warned that when foundations are not firm, decisions become poor and misdirected, often leading people away from their God-given destiny rather than toward it.
The Spirit of God connects individuals to destiny, often through established foundations and spiritual structures. Using Abraham and Lot as a case study, Apostle Marecha explained that Abraham represented a foundation of grace that Lot had access to but failed to fully utilise. Though Lot walked in Abraham’s blessing, he ultimately chose what looked appealing—the fertile plains—over what carried God’s promise (Genesis 13:10, KJV).
“Foundations are not just inherited; they must be honoured and engaged,” Apostle Marecha stated. He urged believers to take advantage of the grace available and to wait patiently on that grace rather than rushing ahead independently. “It is time,” he said, “to benefit from foundations that are strong.”
The message also cautioned against superficial alignment. “Don’t waste time pretending to follow instead of actually following,” Apostle Marecha warned, noting that imitation without submission leads to instability. True following, he explained, requires humility, patience and consistency.
Drawing from the life of Elisha, Apostle Marecha emphasised perseverance in spiritual alignment. Elisha continued to follow Elijah faithfully, even before he was publicly recognised or anointed. His persistence positioned him to inherit a double portion. “Constant victory,” Apostle Marecha said, “is built by placing yourself on a foundation that is strong.”
In contrast, Lot’s story served as a sobering warning. Though instructed to flee back to the mountains, Lot lingered, hesitated and ultimately lost much of what he had access to. Apostle Marecha encouraged believers to make a personal resolve: I will not be like Lot and miss my opportunity and privilege.
As the session concluded, the message was distilled into a powerful reflection: foundations are revealed by daily choices. “Why follow a storyline that doesn’t match your beliefs?” Apostle Marecha asked. “Your decisions expose what you are truly built on.”
Referencing Jesus’ teaching, he reminded the audience that it is not the house that determines stability, but the ground beneath it. The challenge was clear—stand on the rock of God’s Word, or risk settling for what appears promising but has no root.
Apostle Marecha reinforced the conference’s central theme: destiny is sustained not by appearance, but by foundation.
