The atmosphere on Day 3 of the Firm Foundations Conference was on fire as Bishop Gift
Zhovha delivered a powerful, prophetic word for the year. Building on the cornerstone scripture of 1st Corinthians 3 verse 11 KJV “For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” Bishop Zhovha declared that every life must be intentionally constructed upon Christ alone. “This is not a suggestion,” he stated, “it is the only architecture for a life that lasts.”
With compelling clarity, he dismantled a dangerous confusion. “Do not mistake humility for a poverty mindset,” he urged the congregation. Jesus, he went on to explain, embraced earthly poverty for a glorious purpose: so that we could walk in the spiritual and purposeful abundance He purchased. He challenged the pervasive “2026 version of poverty,” a mindset of scarcity and negotiation that
undermines God’s promise. “What you currently lack does not get to define your identity or your future,” he asserted. Meaning people are defined by the foundation they stand on, and that foundation is riches unspeakable.
Looking ahead, Bishop Zhovha emphasised that the journey requires more than good materials; it demands the right posture. Therefore, for the road ahead in 2026 and beyond, submission is non-negotiable as he proclaimed. “It is the key to going far. Therefore, leave
your doubts at home.” The call was to build deeply and strongly, tailoring the foundation to the weight one carries. The final charge resonated in the silence: to build a life – a legacy – so firmly on Christ that it could withstand any fire and house a destiny of abundant purpose.
