An atmosphere of expectation gripped the city as believers gathered for Breakthrough Night, an all-night prayer meeting that took place at the Harare Showgrounds East-End Hall.
The prayer meeting brought together worshippers from different walks of life, all united by a common desire for divine intervention, spiritual renewal and breakthrough.
The momentum began long before believers filled the venue. Earlier, Apostle Joy and Pastor Mary led teams into the bustling streets of Harare’s Central Business District, engaging in street evangelism, praying for people and sharing the message of hope. Their visible commitment inspired many volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that every aspect of the prayer reflected excellence and order.
As the night unfolded, powerful moments of praise and worship, with internationally renowned artists The Unveiled set the stage for what many described as a life-changing encounter.
The highlight of the gathering was Apostle Joy’s teaching on breaking free from spiritual strongholds. Drawing from 2 Corinthians 10:4, he emphasised that believers have access to spiritual weapons that are mighty through God for the pulling down of strongholds.
Addressing the congregation with conviction and clarity, Apostle Joy explained that strongholds are fortified areas that can keep individuals and families trapped in recurring cycles of limitation, failure and bondage and taught on three key spiritual principles: altars, covenants and soul ties.
“An altar is a place where covenants are initiated, activated, and maintained,” he explained. “There may be spiritual systems sustaining certain patterns in a person’s life. These matters require spiritual weapons and spiritual understanding.”
A powerful declaration echoed throughout the hall as Apostle Joy proclaimed that every altar opposing God’s purpose would be silenced in the name of Jesus.
As dawn approached and the gathering of saints came to a close, the atmosphere remained charged with faith and expectation. For many who attended, Breakthrough Night was more than an event—it was a divine appointment. With hearts renewed and faith strengthened, they left carrying a conviction that their breakthrough had been settled.
