In a powerful teaching on divine design, Apostle Michael Mashuro revealed that a believer’s life is meant to be an unbreakable structure. He anchored his message in a key biblical blueprint: “And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;” (Ephesians 2:20 KJV). This means our spiritual strength comes not from our own achievements but from being connected to a God-established lineage of truth and authority.
Apostle Mashuro issued a vital warning against spiritual isolation, using John the Baptist as a profound example. Jesus Himself confirmed John was the promised Elijah, the prophetic voice to prepare the way (Matthew 11:14). Yet, John defined his own ministry as “the voice of one crying in the wilderness” (John 1:23). The Apostle revealed the problem: John was fulfilling scripture alone. He operated in immense prophetic authority but was disconnected from the living “foundation of the apostles and prophets.” This isolation left him vulnerable; he was a mighty voice, but a solitary one. His story warns that even the most anointed calling can become tragically limited if it is not integrated into God’s broader foundational community.
From this, he presented a stunning shift in perspective. He noted that if one man could host a “legion” of thousands of demons, then the God-given capacity of the human spirit to host blessing and authority is immense. This is why spiritual fathers matter, he taught. They are not controllers but God-appointed reservoirs of proven anointing, designed to fill the vast potential within us.
The ultimate model is Jesus Christ Himself. Before His great mission, Jesus was transfigured – (Matthew 17:1-3). This showed His work was built upon the entire foundation of God’s word. True authority, therefore, never starts with self-promotion. It begins by being firmly connected to the foundation. Only then can we be effectively sent out in the power of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20 KJV). The sequence is non-negotiable: first be built upon the foundation, then be sent into your mission.
