My life was turned upside down by a rare disease but little did I know, it was just the beginning of an extraordinary testimony.
My name is Mrs. Farisai Mupindu and I am 50 years old. I have always had health issues and it got worse in 2022 when I could no longer do daily chores like cooking, cleaning the house, even bathing myself. Doctors tried every test but they found nothing yet my vision was affected, I experienced double vision. At one point, I remember I went to work and I couldn’t drive myself back home, someone had to come and pick me up because I just couldn’t see. The condition progressed to a point where I couldn’t even climb stairs at work or use the toilet by myself.
I was later referred to a neurologist and one of the most renowned neurologists in the country diagnosed me of Myashenia Gravis, which is severe muscle weakness. According to Dr. Brian Moyo, Myasthenia Gravis is a chronic autoimmune disorder in which antibodies destroy the communication between nerves and muscle, resulting in weakness of the skeletal muscles. “It is a very rare condition that affects only 4 in a million people each year. As a result of its rarity treating and diagnosing the disease is complicated as the symptoms are non-specific. Treatment for this condition is also complex and requires specialist management which is costly. Sometimes this medication isn’t available locally and has to be imported,” he said.
Myasthenia gravis is a lifelong medical condition with no cure; Doctors only manage the condition with the aim of increasing general muscle function and preventing swallowing and breathing problems.
The medication I was given wasn’t working much, and even though I was praying for healing I started to have questions as to why God wasn’t healing me. I think it was on the 7th of July, when I attended the Believer’s class. I learnt about the Believers class, teachings that Apostle Joy was running in Harare from Facebook. I had been following Apostle Joy on Facebook for some time. When I saw the Believer’s class being advertised I decided I wanted to go and be equipped as a believer. For a while I wasn’t even thinking about healing, because I was saying I prayed, I had also had some people pray for me, but still I was too sick. I just thought maybe now I could just live with the sickness because I couldn’t get healed. But the most amazing thing happened to me, even up to today, I’m still amazed.
On that day, I returned to my prayer points and the first prayer point on my list was that I needed total healing. I was surprised when I got there and the man of God just looked at me and said I had been praying for healing and that I had a complicated disease. The grace of God located me through the man of God, he prayed for me and that very day I felt different. Usually I felt too weak to drive but when I left that place the first thing that I noticed was I was not shaking when I was driving. I was able to drive and when I got home I ate my food, took my medication and slept well. Days went by and on Thursday that’s when I woke up feeling strong, I didn’t even need to take my medication which I was now dependent on. I woke up, took my bath, got dressed and I was okay. From that day, I just started feeling different even today, I take walks, I could no longer do that, I clean the house, I’m able to cook. Simple things we take for granted that I was no longer able to do.
I want to thank my father Apostle Joy; he spoke to me and helped me with my unbelief. I believe in God, I believe in Jesus Christ, I believe in the Word. But the Word seemed not to work for me until I met him, God is so amazing. I know the prophecy that he gave us that the second half of the year is going to be better, greater and brighter. For me it has already started manifesting, I’m a partaker because I’m already giving a testimony that I was healed in the name of Jesus.
